Presidents cup gets mark fired up, ladies get relief

Mark enjoyed the presidents cup, here is noticeably "jacked up" on adrenaline. Dale Helmers and Tim Eriks claimed the 2014 Champions title. Congratulations go out to them.
Very shortly, we will be raising the canopy below. This view is from 2 white tee. This tree clearly impacts the ability to use the entire tee box, on this already under-sized tee.
We could use a small rain event,

Ralph makes an new friend, I end a relationship

The golf course is home to many animals, the amount of habitat a golf course can provide is impressive. This guy wandered out into a fairway and was greeted by Ralph, we gave him a lift back home, and ralphie did not try to eat him. I was pretty surprised.
Noting Tiger's downward trend almond with players leaving the game, Dick's Sporting Goods fired over 500 PGA Professionals yesterday. Here is a link to an article http://m.espn.go.com/golf/story?storyId=11248733&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F%22%7D. They can say what they want, but the relationship they had with Taylormade didn't help. They were playing the distance game, and trying to sell a guy two drivers a year is not realistic. I used to buy quite a bit from Dick's, I won't be shopping there anymore.
It is time the PGA Tour, the USGA, and the network announcers stop putting an emphasis on how far the ball travels. Distance is not what makes this a great sport. This sport is great because of nature, camaraderie, creativity, and competition. Please share if you think this game is great, and help us find ways to encourage beginners to take up the hunt for birdies.
Dear Dicks Sporting Goods,
I love golf.
It is a great game.

Why is this dog happy?

Because Briar Fest is this Saturday and he loves to party. Barney even has his black socks on for the occasion. We will soon transform the grounds into a carnivalesque area that will provide entertainment for everyone. Please call the club and RSVP before it's too late. Briar Fest is an excellent time to introduce your friends to our great club.
Piazza (David), loves to tear up our cart paths (sarcasm). We found a broken clay field tile that was making the left side of nine white a little swampy. The good news is that we made provisions for future drainage, so that we can improve the left side of nine white fairway.
Great day for golf,

Looking good

We are finally getting caught up. The weather this far has meant tall grass and weeds!! Holy cow, what a start to the season.
We have dried out nicely and the course should be fun to play.
Rain predicted for the weekend so my suggestion is to get out here today and play some golf while the course is playing firm.
Jack agrees,

Get this thing rolling

We are rolling greens today and we are excited about it!
Crew was busy yesterday, verticutting, topdressing, and applying silica to the greens.
Everything went well and we may put a mow on them this am after the surfaces are dry and rolled.
Excited,

Big oak and dirty sand

Well, we knew it was a matter of time, but the oak that lost the branch last month, succumbed to gravity last night. We hope to have it, along with ten thousand other branches picked up before the holiday.
The storms brought heavy rains, and many of our bunkers have washed out. We will be pumping them out and repairing them as well. The dirt that washes to the bottom contaminates the sand affecting the drainage (more on that later).
Looks like a good forecast going forward,
