Wow, more rain!

Yes, there is a hint of sarcasm in there.
Ralph refused to give up his seat in the lunchroom to go outside. When a golden won't go outside, you know the weather is yuck.
We are preparing the course for the memorial day event. Carts will be restricted to paths. We are running on time.
Have an enjoyable holiday weekend.

Memorial weekend

It is not yet June, and I am tired or blogging about weather woes. We are leaving the path today even though we are a bit more saturated than we would like to be. Please remember to fix ball marks and use the soil and seed mix in the fairways.
I could really use some sunshine.

Sign of the apocalypse?

Foaming trees?

I have never heard them mentioned as a final sign, but surely, they have some impending warning.

We have been drenched with some heavy rain. The course is currently closed until the rain stops. The greens are saturated and have significant areas with standing water. The rain definitely puts us behind schedule. We like to have the course perfect for memorial day, as it really signifies the start of our season.

Look for the course to open 1 to 2 hours after the rain stops today. I sound naively optimistic don't I?

I would include a prediction of when that will be, but the radar has taken on the appearance of a green lava lamp where the yellow blobs simply change size and move back and forth. (yes, it is a stalled low pressure system sitting on the lake)
Don't forget your umbrella,

Briar ridge X-games

From this photo, you can see that the cart was attempting to "get some air dude." Golf carts can be dangerous, and if you have kids that are using the golf carts at night, be aware that the golf course has many obstructions, many which are hidden in the cover of the night. Please report any nightly activity on the golf course to the dyer police, do not call our privacy staff, please contact the police.
Have a great Sunday,

Busy busy

Looks like we are ramping up to full swing. Fuller crews mean mowing and rolling. Come on out and play some golf. Tonight is Friday, be sure to ask the proshop about family and beginner nines. This is an easy and relaxing way to introduce new golfers to the course and the best game in America.

I am still looking for members to join my sustainable golf committee. Look for more details in the golf lobby this weekend.
Happy Friday,

Death of a weed

We have been working hard this last week, catching up on mowing, edging bunkers, and spraying weeds. We are beginning to get the annual flowers in as well. It is starting to look like a golf course again.

Stay away rain!

Test from my phone

I love a rainy night

The rain last night was quite timely. We were very dry yesterday, so the course is in fine condition today. We are still busy mowing and we can't seem to catch up. Looks like it will be a beautiful friday, maybe a good day to leave work early and play 9 holes.

The rain was not enough to place cart restrictions, woo hoo!

Great, now I have that Kenny loggins song stuck in my head,

Happy Thursday

The course is drying out nicely, just in time for rain? We are getting caught up on mowing, however now we have lots of trimming around tree bases, weeds in bunkers, and flowers to plant.
Spring is a crazy time, we have to hurry up so we can enjoy summer!
Get out here and play, it is pretty!
Lots of flowering trees, but the flowers are falling.
Peace,

Frosty thursday

We have a little frost today, which allowed us a little time to connect with nature. There will be a slight delay for ladies this am. Maybe fifteen minutes to half hour. There is a good chance we may go on time though, so if you are going to play, plan on a 9:00 start.

The weekend forecast is another doosey. Please, no rain dances.

Range is open, on the front tier.

See you on the tee,
